welcome, laypeople!

It all started when…

I used to be just a landscape architect and gardening enthusiast - that made me weird enough - a lot of landscape industry professionals are doing a job, not necessarily living and working in their passion.

Growing up, fire was rarely a concern, but my parents are “do it yourselfers” who garden and engineer their own solutions to the problems they face. These days we are facing the exact same problems from opposite ends of California: fires are too close, the air is too smokey, and the heat waves are becoming dangerously intense. Climate change isn’t just a thing that is slowly happening to polar ice caps. In the summer of 2020, we were concerned that each other was going to be able to tolerate the temperatures because none of us had air conditioning.

If you have found this website and are not in the landscape industry or a related field, please know that I’m thrilled you are here.  I could assume a lot of things about you, but I’d so much rather you tell me about yourself.

What are your concerns?  Where do you go to check the things you read and hear?  Is there something you haven’t been able to figure out yet?  Do you have a unique challenge as a renter, home owner, owner’s representative, property manager, or what?!

Holler back!
